  • aged and disability services
  • children’s education and care
  • health
  • human (community) services
  • sport and recreation.

We partner with experts and specialists to advance skills, training and workforce development and to foster innovation. By supporting skilled and adaptable workforces, we empower individuals to thrive in meaningful careers while driving progress in sectors critical to the Australian community’s well-being.

What we do

Our work is built on collaboration. We consult with our sectors around Australia to:

  • deliver workforce planning informed by evidence and industry expertise
  • develop and maintain vocational training products that meet sector needs
  • promote initiatives that attract, retain and develop highly skilled staff
  • ensure Australia’s workforce remains responsive to evolving community needs and voices of lived experience.

Why it matters

The care and support sectors represent the largest employing industry in Australia and demand on these sectors is rapid growing. We recognise the opportunities and challenges that this unparalleled demand presents.

Our sectors drive economic and social wellbeing, enrich lives and promote inclusivity. We believe in empowering people and communities by ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to flourish.
