Consultation

HumanAbility consults widely because we know it is the people who teach, employ, represent, regulate and perform work in the care and support sectors who understand the skills required better than anyone else.

About Our Consultations

Broad consultation helps ensure that Australians are being trained for real jobs and emerging opportunities, while employers can access the skills they need and learners receive qualifications that have genuine value in the labour market. This year’s program will bring together respected voices from across Australia to take on questions that matter across our sectors. Across the day, conversations will explore productivity and community wellbeing, the future of education and training, First Nations perspectives, inclusive workplaces, AI and digital transformation and participation in skills, training and employment.
‍
We have several ways of conducting consultation including:

  • one-on-one interviews
  • online surveys
  • in person or online workshops
  • through our consultation portal.

How to use the Consultation Portal

The consultation portal allows users to provide feedback on draft training products developed during qualification review projects.

It’s a secure site that feeds into our formal consultation processes, so users must register before they can review draft materials.

If you are interested in providing feedback, please subscribe to project updates for that particular project. You can do this by visiting the project page, clicking on “Subscribe to Project Updates” and entering your details. You will need to do this for each project you are interested in providing feedback on.

Once you subscribe for project updates, you will receive an invitation when the project reaches the Consultation phase and draft documents are made available for review. If you subscribe during the Consultation period, it may take 24-48 hours to receive your invitation.

Please note: The invitation to create a consultation portal account is non-transferable and will only work once.
It will not work for other users.

How to use the Consultation Portal

  1. Follow the prompts in the email invitation and either click on "Accept the Invitation” or copy and paste the URL in your browser.
  2. You will be taken to a screen that has an Invitation code. Click “Register”.
  3. A pop-up window will ask you to “Sign in to access Consultation Portal”. You need to click “No account? Create one.”
  4. Enter your email address. The email address must match the address that received the email invitation.
  5. Next you will receive a code via email to confirm your address.
  6. Enter the code and then type your email address and click “Next”.
  7. You will then be prompted to create a password and add your name.
  8. You now have access to give feedback in the consultation portal. Congratulations!

How to provide feedback

Once you have logged into the portal, you will find a list of “My Projects” on the Homepage.

Projects that have documents available for review will be listed with a “Continue to review” option beside them.

Click on “Continue to review” and this will take you to a project page which lists the project name and a brief description.

Beneath these is a list of training product documents for review. These will be listed by product code, product name, product type and the option to “Review”.

When you select a document to review, you will be able to type your feedback or respond to survey questions.

All feedback will be made public in a consultation log which will be published on the project webpage. Please ensure your feedback is constructive and polite.

What happens next?

When the consultation period has closed, the draft documents will no longer be available. The project team will collate all comments received during the consultation period and respond to each of them in a consultation log which will be posted on the project webpage.

If you have any questions about the consultation portal, please email the relevant project team:
