Stan Wall is an experienced risk and safety leader with 30 years as a professional lifeguard working across Australia, the Pacific Islands, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. His expertise spans aquatic risk management, risk-based assessments and the planning and management of major aquatic events and operations. This is complemented by 18 years as an emergency officer, with extensive operational experience in water rescue, aviation and technical rescue.

As Chief Risk Officer of LeisureSafe Australia, Stan brings this depth of operational and governance experience to a national risk and safety portfolio.

Stan has served the Aquatic & Recreation Institute (ARI) for 14 years in senior state and national board positions. His contributions have included corporate secretary, national training advisory and other voluntary governance responsibilities. He currently serves on the Institute’s Executive Management Team and is both a Fellow and Life Member of ARI.

He also holds a position on the NSW Sport and Recreation Skills Council, providing specialist advice and guidance as an aquatic industry expert and ARI representative.

As a HumanAbility Board member, Stan chairs the Audit & Risk Committee, serves on the Governance and Nominations Committee, and chairs the Sport and Recreation Industry Advisory Council. These roles draw on his extensive experience in governance, risk oversight, industry training and workforce development.
