Tammy Munro

Assistant Secretary, Health and Community Services Union Tasmania

Tammy Munro is the Assistant State Secretary of the Health and Community Services Union Tasmania, a branch of the Health Services Union. Tammy began her career in the disability sector as a support worker, working in a range of settings including community and residential services. She has improved the lives of countless people, in particular through her specialist skills supporting people with acquired brain injury. Tammy's direct experience as a disability support worker informs her work as a passionate advocate and leader for the union’s membership. Prior to starting work in the disability sector, she was a senior leader and manager in private corporations, with particular experience in delivering training and development to large teams.

Tammy’s knowledge of the Tasmanian and federal industrial relations systems will bring immense value to the HumanAbility Board as she understands the interplay between policy and funding, and workplace wages and conditions for the care and support economy. As an elected branch official and member of the Health Services Union’s National Executive and Council, Tammy has a strong working knowledge and contemporary experience in Committee membership, governance frameworks and senior decision making.
