Angus McFarland is the Secretary of the Australian Services Union (NSW & ACT).Angus first joined the ASU in 2010 as an organiser working on the Equal Pay campaign.

In his time at the ASU he has supported members to grow their union in the community and disability sectors, and led industry leading campaigns securing the sector’s future: including winning paid placements for social work students and portable long service leave for community and disability workers in NSW.

He campaigned alongside ASU members to protect Sydney Water and Hunter Water in the NSW Constitution from the threat of privatisation. He is proud to lead the union that won 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave.

Representing workers in the community and disability sectors, the water, transport and information technology sectors, Angus is proud to lead one of the fastest growing unions in Australia.

 

HumanAbility collaborates with industry to conduct research, identify job market demands, assess skill requirements, create adaptive qualifications and training packages, and spearhead workforce development initiatives.
