Dr. Justin Scarr

CEO, Royal Life Saving Society Australia

Dr. Justin Scarr is the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia and a leading advocate for drowning prevention both nationally and globally. He chairs the Australian Water Safety Council and serves as Chair of the Drowning Prevention Commission at the International Life Saving Federation. Justin has led the development of successive Australian Water Safety Strategies and has contributed to World Health Organization projects on drowning prevention. He completed his PhD at The George Institute for Global Health (UNSW), focusing on the art and science of multisectoral coordination in drowning prevention. Justin previously chaired Service Skills Australia and several iterations of the Sport and Recreation Industry Advisory arrangements. With expertise in policy advocacy, strategic communications, and collaborative leadership, Justin has driven major advances in water safety, research, and community development.
