Industrial Relations Policy Lead, National Disability Services

Matthew has been part of the NDS team since early 2023 and part of the disability sector for the last decade of change.

Matthew lives with various disabilities including acquired brain injury and spinal nerve damage caused by road trauma 15 years ago.

Matthew brings varied professional expertise from prior roles in state and Federal government education departments, quality and safeguarding in the NDIS and aged care sectors, and as a Registered Nurse in trauma / rehabilitation.

Before all that he was a print news reporter in Melbourne, South Korea and the Canberra press gallery.Matthew has also had various advisory roles including the Darebin Disability Advisory Committee, Alfred Health Community Advisory Committee, NDIS Ministerial Workforce Dialogue, and the HumanAbility Industry Advisory Committee.

 

HumanAbility collaborates with industry to conduct research, identify job market demands, assess skill requirements, create adaptive qualifications and training packages, and spearhead workforce development initiatives.
