Pathology Qualification Review Implementation Workshops

This Pathology Qualification Review looked at the HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection and HLT37415 Certificate III in Pathology Assistance qualifications, which had not been updated since 2015. The review aimed to ensure the qualifications reflect contemporary industry practices, strengthen workforce capability and equip graduates with the skills and knowledge required to meet current and emerging needs in the health sector.

The project recommended one new qualification - HLT37525 Certificate III in Pathology - be created, consolidating HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection and HLT37415 Certificate III in Pathology Assistance. The new qualification has been endorsed by Skills Ministers and these workshops will help training providers with its implementation.

The HLT37525 Certificate III in Pathology contains 8 core units and streamed electives to allow completion with the candidate specialising in either pathology assistance or pathology collection. A summary of foundation skills has been added to the qualification.
